Del Rio Prepares for the 6th Annual Miss Texas Lone Star Latina

It's that time of the year again! Pageant season has begun, in the Queen City of the Rio Grand. Just like fishermen from around the world know Del Rio because of our wonderful Amistad Lake Bass Tournaments, Delegates from all over the Lone Star State have began sending in registration forms for the State pageant. Pageants are the new sport of the century.

The city anticipates their arrival with a Welcome Vip Forum Reception that includes City Officials and other dignitaries, to be held on Friday, November 9, 2007. The Women of Merit Conference will be held on Saturday, November 10th and the final pageant competition will be held Sunday, November 11, 2007 at 2 pm at in Beautiful and Historical Downtown Del Rio's Paul Poag Theater for the Performing Arts.

What do girls get out of this, you might ask? Besides Scholarships, Focus, Great Skills that will remain with them for the rest of their life. Success comes from being able to grow stronger and learn from times in which we are disappointed. Even girls who do not ever win a pageant, stand out for the rest of their life (where ever they go). Said Claudia Lopez.

The Competition is divided into 4 sections: Panel Interview, Swimsuit for Miss, Fashion Wear for Pre Teen, Teens and Ms., Evening Gown and On Stage Question. Pre Teens Must be at least 11-14. Applicant must not turn older than 14 as of Sept 1, 2007, Teens Must be at least 15-18. Applicant must not turn older than 18 as of Sept 1, 2007, Miss Must be at least 19-29 years of age and Ms Ages 18 & over.

"After our state-level competition," Lopez said. "Winners will have the opportunity to advance to national competition."
